Thanks to the 4.5 years business and personal interactions with Raman, I have had the great chance to learn a lot about India business environment, culture, complex regulations and tax rules. I have known Raman starting 2004, as the President Marketing & Sales of Tata AutoComp Systems Limited and Board Member of the Joint Venture: Knorr-Bremse Systems for Commercial Vehicles (India) Pvt. Ltd. between Tata AutoComp Systems Limited (India) and Knorr Bremse Asia Pacific (Holding) Ltd. The JV was a green field operation to localize and manufacture Air Brake Systems for the India Market. We did start together in Bangalore before moving to a new plant in Pune. The JV did face tough times with huge challenges in the first years to achieve the highest expectations in term of localization rate, sales and quality. Raman came across to me as a very senior and experienced manager, a person with the highest loyalty, focus, and dedication to the business and organization while above the expectations, enjoying a great network in the Automotive Industry covering functions like Finance & Controlling, Human Resources, Marketing and Sales as well as IT. As a very valuable partner, he could easily find and suggest solutions for any items related to the ramp up, so that we could develop our Joint Venture and overcome all set up related issues successfully. Raman can be very proud of his 11 years spent to develop successfully the business of TACO and its JVs in India. After this established success and facts, I’m not surprised that he then could move forward to be promoted to his current position as the President & CEO of Bilcare Ltd.
